You may think you can switch your Medicare Supplement plan every year between Oct 15th and Dec 7th but did you know those plans do not have an annual enrollment period. You can only purchase a Medicare Supplement plan "Guaranteed Issue" at certain times in your life. Medicare Advantage plans can be purchased "Guaranteed Issue" every year not Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans. The language of Medicare is important and can greatly affect you and the future of your healthcare coverage...know the difference...or simply ask.

Get ready to be bombarded with Medicare Open Enrollment commercials! The Annual Election Period runs from Oct. 15th - Dec. 7th but the TV ads will likely begin on Oct. 1st. Be sure to notice, you will never hear them advertise:  "It's Open Enrollment for Medicare Supplement or Medigap plans". This is VERY important.
